LIFEGUARD 2-YR. CERTIFICATION CLASS (BLENDED LEARNING)
The primary purpose of the American Red Cross Blended Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. The blended learning option combines online learning with in-person skill sessions conducted by a Red Cross-certified instructor.
Fees: Members $350, Non-Members $395
Mandatory Prerequisites:
- Must be at least 15 years old by the last day of the course
- Successful completion of skills pre-test:
- 300-yard continuous swim (freestyle and/or breaststroke)
- Tread water with no hands for 2 minutes
- Swim approx. 20 yards, surface dive to depth of 7-12 feet, retrieve 10lb object, kick on back carrying the object approx. 20 yards, exit the pool without the ladder in under 1 minute and 40 seconds

- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- Standard First Aid
LIFEGUARD RE-CERTIFICATION CLASS
Lifeguard recertification can be achieved with Lifeguarding Review classes that refresh your knowledge and skills and update your certification for another two years. To participate in the Lifeguard Review class you must have a current lifeguard certification, or certification expired by no more than 30 days.
