healthy-uHealthy U is a collaborative partnership between the New Jersey YMCA State Alliance and the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey with the goal of combating childhood obesity through nutrition education, physical education and family involvement. Our Y is proud to incorporate Healthy U in school age and preschool programs.

Applications for Before & After School Care are available at our facility year round. If you’d like more information about registration and monthly tuition, please call the School Age Child Care Office at 732.566.9266.

The programs are supervised by certified teachers and/or qualified staff over the age of 21, with experience working with children.  Our supervisors and teaching assistants have gone through a background check, drug screen, reference checks, fingerprinted, and all meet New Jersey State licensing requirements. In addition, regional field coordinators oversee all aspects of the programs and report directly to our YMCA directors.

Our programs provide a “home away from home” environment where the children can unwind from the structured school day, socialize, have a snack, do their homework and participate in wholesome group activities.

Yes. The programs provide themed activities which include Arts & Humanities, Health & Fitness Awareness, Social Emotional Learning Activities, Literacy, and Science/Technology through our STEAM curriculum.

The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County’s Before & After School Care Program has run successfully for over 25 years in Monmouth County. We recognize that your children are a part of our community, and our mission is to help them to develop to their fullest potential in spirit, mind and body, by incorporating the core values of caring, respect, honesty and responsibility into our curriculum.

For everyone’s safety, when a school has a delayed opening, there is NO Before School Care. Announcements of emergency closings are made on your school’s website.

For everyone’s safety, when schools have a mid-day emergency closing, there is NO After School Care. For emergency mid-day closings, please be certain your child’s school has your work telephone and emergency cell numbers and your child knows where he/she is to go.

Tuition is paid through automatic bank draft. Checking accounts or credit cards will be debited on the 1st of each month and due no later than the 15th of the month.

YCares is a confidential financial assistance program that helps those needing support to participate in YMCA programs and services. For more information call 732.566.9266.

Programs wrap around the full school day.  Morning before care begins at 7:00 am to school start first bell;  For after care – Call our School Age Child Care office for PM hours in your school district. Each district’s closing time may vary.   If your child attends half day Kindergarten, please note there is no child care.
