KIDS ARE IN FOR ADVENTURE AT FREEHOLD FAMILY YMCA DAY CAMP!

Freehold Family YMCA Day Camp offers children 6-15 years old an enriching summer of recreational swim, sports, games, and much more. Just the right amount of swimming and sports for your child in a safe, nurturing environment where we incorporate our core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusion into all that we do. Your child will learn new skills, develop lasting friendships — and most of all, have fun!

We give youth an enriching, safe experience with caring staff and volunteers who model positive values that help build kids’ character.

Camping teaches self-reliance, a love for nature and the outdoors, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character and leadership. Y counselors are dedicated to making sure camp is an amazing experience for every camper. Safety is our #1 priority! Our counselors are hired based on their skills and receive extensive training in a variety of topics prior to the start of each camp season and are First Aid and CPR certified.

YMCA OF GREATER MONMOUTH COUNTY is proud to offer the Role Model In Training Program for campers who are interested in becoming a summer camp counselor. The RMIT program has been developed for teen campers who demonstrate strong leadership abilities and have a desire to work with children.  This program assists teens in learning and developing the necessary skills to work with children as a camp counselor or, as we call them, Role Models.

RMITs must be flexible, talented, energetic, and caring candidates who want to make a difference in the lives of the children. Simultaneously, RMITs acquire life skills and on-the-job leadership training relevant to the mission and values of the Y. During a weekly session, RMITs may earn their certification in First Aid & CPR, learn and participate in team building activities, develop and practice group management techniques, learn problem solving & de-escalation tactics, discuss current events, build cover letters & resumes, and partake in program & activity creation and delivery. RMITs will be paired with camp Role Models, Specialists, and Directors in order to gain experience working with campers in different settings. Successful completion of the Role Model In Training Program will allow candidates to apply as a camp Role Model when they are of employment age.

To improve the quality of programming we provide to our families, The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County has made the decision to partner with a company called CampDoc. CampDoc is a YMCA Preferred Vendor and is the leading Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for camps. Designed by camp doctors, nurses and directors, CampDoc provides a secure and easy-to-use web-based solution which manages health forms, allergies, medications, and illness/injury tracking for our camps and programs both throughout the summer and during the off season.

After your registration is processed, you will receive an email from CampDoc to create your camper’s Health Profile. All parents are required to complete CampDoc forms for each of their children attending summer camp. All information in the health profile is kept confidential, and health details are shared with staff only when necessary, for proper care and safety.

If you do not receive an email, please check your junk/spam mail folder. CampDoc sends out periodic reminder emails for incomplete health information. These notifications come from CampDoc, so please add them to your safe sender list to avoid accidental delivery to junk and spam folders.

NEW FOR 2024! SPORTS & SPECIALTY CAMPS – AGES 6-12 YRS.

Snapology Camp will be a fun, creative, hands-on camp that is all about building with LEGO bricks, teamwork, and imagination. In this interactive camp, each day is a new adventure of building and learning all aspects of STEM education at the same time. Let’s have a blast building, creating, and learning this Summer!

Join the YMCA and Monmouth County’s semi-pro men’s team of players and coaches for a week of Summer Soccer! FC Monmouth is locally renowned for providing top-tier professional level training to our community of budding soccer stars. Camp welcomes players of all stages of development and will focus on the fundamental skills of the game – shooting, passing, dribbling, as well as technical footwork and tactical game strategy within small group instruction, skill stations, and games. Learn, play, and grow on the pitch this Summer at the Y! 

5 Day: $252 Members / $300 Non-Members

Did you know the Y invented the sport of basketball? Spend this Summer where the game began! Camp welcomes players of all stages of development and will focus on the foundational elements of the game – shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense. Our staff will provide professional level training and mentorship via small group instruction, skill stations, and games. Learn, play, and grow on the court this summer at the Y!

5 Day: $252 Members / $300 Non-Members

Step into the shoes of a detective- uncover the science involved in evidence gathering and analysis. Using your observational skills, collect evidence and analyze the clues left behind. Recreate the scene of a crime using schematics. Use science to connect the dots and help sniff out the suspects in this hands-on investigation into the science of sleuthing!

The YMCA is excited to partner with former professional baseball player Ray Navarrete and Tip Your Cap coaches to provide our campers with an opportunity to receive professional level baseball training and instructions. The emphasis will be building on the basics skills and fundamentals of baseball. The coaches will also provided motivational information on teamwork, sportsmanship, and the importance of chasing your dreams! There will be games, fun competitions and free sponsors t-shirts.

5 Day: $300 Members / $375 Non-Members

Dive into a variety of scientific fields as you help solve a mystery, stretch silly putty and slime, copper-plate nickels, tinker with circuits, and investigate optical illusions. Become captivated by lasers, dry ice, and hair-raising experiments! You will love what happens when you mix science and fun!
