Updated March 16
Thank you for your patience and support as our YMCA of Greater Monmouth County responds to this unprecedented health crisis with the best interest of our members, at-risk populations, staff and greater community in mind. The Y has an important role to play in helping to mitigate the coronavirus (COVID-19) spread while also continuing to support critical programs that help our participants with wellness, prevention, recovery, counseling and social services.
Effective Monday, March 16 at 7 p.m., we are closing Y facilities and cancelling programs and classes until further notice. This includes:
> Old Bridge Family YMCA
> Red Bank Family YMCA
> Freehold Family YMCA
> Freehold Borough YMCA Community Center
> Bayshore Family Success Center – Available via email and phone
> YMCA Camp Zehnder
> Child Care locations in Matawan, Tinton Falls and Freehold and Y-Kids sites
> Y Team Headquarters Administrative Office in Shrewsbury
As of now, the Y’s Counseling and Social Services offices in Matawan and Eatontown will remain open in order to continue to serve the community with critical outpatient and behavioral health programs. The Monmouth County Department of Health and Department of Children and Families will help to guide further decisions. In all circumstances, the Y will continue to practice safety recommendations and social distancing.
Our operational decisions are aligned with the aim of “flattening the curve” of the virus spread so that our hospital systems can be responsive to those who are sick in a timely and reasonable manner.
MEMBERSHIPS & HARDSHIPS

We understand there are many questions during this time of uncertainty. Answers to questions about your childcare tuition will be coming soon.
If you are able, we respectfully ask that you keep your membership active during this brief period, as this will allow us to continue to serve the community now and in the future.
The Y is a charitable organization that relies on community support to continue programs that help at-risk children and families. This time of closure will impact staffing resources and our ability to provide support during hardships. If you do need to change your payment, please e-mail your branch contact:
