Updated September 15, 2020:

We’ve missed our members and we’re pleased to be approved to reopen our Y at 25% capacity. Indoor reopening to all active members with reservations will continue in phases starting with the Old Bridge Family YMCA on September 1, the Red Bank Family YMCA on September 10 and the Freehold Family YMCA on September 14.

With safety as our highest priority, we’ve been welcoming back members for a variety of outdoor fitness programs including group ex classes, pickle ball, lap and family swim, aqua fitness, swim lessons and personal training.

See below for the latest information on amenities available and links to indoor, outdoor, virtual and swim schedules, safety measures, our mobile app and FAQs. Reservations are required for all workouts and classes. We’re so happy to see you back and to support a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Active Programs

See the full chart below to see what programs and amenities are open and what is coming soon.

We plan to progress reopening of amenities weekly, although things might change based on government and health department guidance. We thank you for your patience as we work to reopen safely.

What to Expect As Our Branches Reopen

  • Please stay home if you’re sick. Your temperature will be checked upon entry, and we’ll ask you to review and acknowledge a health declaration.
  • Bring your own mask and wear it at all times. Our staff will be wearing face coverings as well for your protection. Please also bring a water bottle, towel, and any small workout equipment you may need (mat, jump rope, resistance bands, etc.).
  • Practice social distancing. We’ve changed spacing of equipment to maintain distance, and have floor markings to help guide you. Group exercise classes and lap swim will also be modified to maintain distance.
  • Wipe down equipment before and after use, wash your hands often, and use hand sanitizer. Our staff will also be rigorously cleaning and disinfecting the Y and our equipment continuously throughout the day. Additional cleaning will be performed when the branch is closed.
  • Expect reduced capacity. We’re limiting the number of people within the facility and only wellness areas will be open during this time. There will be no lobby and coffee station seating, or access to locker rooms.
  • Reservations will be required. Please use our mobile app or ymcanj.org to make a reservation.
  • Safety will be our highest priority. View our full list of safety measures to protect our staff and members.
