We’re happy to be approved to reopen our Y at 25% capacity. With safety as our highest priority, we’ve been welcoming back members for a variety of programs including group ex classes, pickle ball, lap and family swim, aqua fitness, swim lessons and personal training. Youth and family programming are coming son!

What to Expect As Our Branches Reopen

Reopening of amenities are happening weekly. All decisions are programs are subject to guidance from government and local health departments. We thank you for your patience as we work to reopen safely.

  • Please stay home if you’re sick. Your temperature will be checked upon entry, and we’ll ask you to review and acknowledge a health declaration.
  • Bring your own mask and wear it at all times. Our staff will be wearing face coverings as well for your protection. Please also bring a water bottle, towel, and any small workout equipment you may need (mat, jump rope, resistance bands, etc.).
  • Practice social distancing. We’ve changed spacing of equipment to maintain distance, and have floor markings to help guide you. Group exercise classes and lap swim will also be modified to maintain distance.
  • Wipe down equipment before and after use, wash your hands often, and use hand sanitizer. Our staff will also be rigorously cleaning and disinfecting the Y and our equipment continuously throughout the day. Additional cleaning will be performed when the branch is closed.
  • Expect reduced capacity. We’re limiting the number of people within the facility and only wellness areas will be open during this time. There will be no lobby and coffee station seating, or access to locker rooms.
  • Reservations will be required. Please use our mobile app or ymcanj.org to make a reservation.
