When we opened our doors 150 years ago in Red Bank, the Y has been committed to helping individuals and families grow in spirit, mind and body. We are proud of our long-standing collaboration with leaders in Red Bank to strengthen the community through programs that enable kids to realize their potential, prepare teens for college and employment, offer ways for families to have fun together, encourage service to others, and empower all people to be healthier.

Here for All.

The Y is here for all. We believe everyone deserves opportunities to learn, grow and thrive. Through public support including charitable donations and special events, people in need throughout Monmouth County are provided access to swim and water safety, child care, summer camp experiences for all abilities, health and wellness, chronic disease and cancer support, year-round tutoring, pathways to college for at-risk youth, therapeutic counseling, suicide prevention, traumatic loss support, and other programs that respond to today’s most critical social issues.

We welcome visitors to connect with us to learn more about how lives are transformed at the Y. For more information call 732-741-2504, ext. 239 or e-mail membership@ymcanj.org.

Giving Back

Through support from the public and private donors, we are able to serve more people and deliver our cause to strengthen Red Bank, and our greater community.

In the last five years, the Y provided over $5 million in financial assistance and program subsidies to children and families in need throughout Monmouth County. Dedicated to the well-being of all Red Bank children and families, the Y was able to provide:

For Youth Development

3rd Grade Swim Lessons – Since it’s start in 2011 this program has helped thousands of Red Bank children learn how to be safe in and around water. This annual series of swim lessons is offered to 3rd grade Red Bank students free of charge at the YMCA including transportation. Hear from our school leaders about the Y’s vital partnerships.

Red Bank Preschool & Y-Kids Before/After  School – The Y has partnered with the Red Bank Borough Public School District to grow young learners, and currently serves Red Bank schools with Y-Kids programs before and after school.

Red Bank Healthy Kids – Children in grades K-8 are encouraged to stay active, socialize with peers and develop healthy habits by spending time at the Y through supervised play and recreation.

Counseling & Social Services – School-based clinical counseling and mental health support for the changing needs of Red Bank children and families

Healthy Kids Day – Our Annual April festival in Red Bank and other locations is a free community event showcasing health and wellness programs to awaken summer imagination and inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active now and through the summer.

For Healthy Living

Safety Around Water Week – Targeting at-risk youth, this week-long program is designed to reduce the risk of drowning through affordable swim and water safety instruction in Red Bank. It’s offered every June to community members, from infants to adults.

Each June, the Y partners with the Red Bank RiverCenter and business community to host the Red Bank Classic 5K and Kids Fun Run. Thousands of runners and walkers are welcomed for this USA Track & Field (USATF) sanctioned 5K benefitting youth programs of the Red Bank Y, followed by healthy family fun in downtown Red Bank.

Chronic Disease Support– Cancer survivors and individuals with Parkinson’s disease regain their health and develop new friendships in our small-group exercise program at the Red Bank Family Y that focuses on strength building, peer support and mindfulness.

Fitness in the Park – In partnership with the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign to improve the health of employees and residents and promote a healthier community, the Y hosts free weekly group exercise program June-September on Wednesday evenings at Riverside Gardens Park in downtown Red Bank.

The Y is Free & Open on select holidays for all community members to enjoy fitness and family time together.

For Social Responsibility

No one is turned away for the inability to pay. Financial Assistance is available on a needs-basis and with a process that’s fast, simple and tailored for the unique concerns of all Red Bank families. See our traditional and express scholarship applications in English and Spanish.

Our national Togetherhood initiative encourages Y members to give back and support our neighbors through community service projects like winter coat collections, holiday gifts, back-to-school drives, and more. We thank our volunteers and welcome participation in upcoming projects. Learn more by contacting giving@ymcanj.org.

Community Health Fair – Each May, the Y partners with other local health and wellness organizations including Lunch Break, VNA, Hackensack Meridian Health, Mental Health Association of Monmouth County and Red Bank Borough to share nutrition and free health resources, screenings, giveaways and refreshments with the greater Red Bank community.
